Along with hormones, we avoid antibiotics when it comes to keeping our animals healthy. We believe that they should be raised humanely, and while antibiotics can seem like a great solution, they are not.

The antibiotic game is a long-term one. The problem with it is, it only seems to have advantages at the beginning. However, if they continue to be used, they create more problems than they solve.

Antibiotics look good because they enhance efficiency and can be used to treat animals and reduce disease among livestock. However, antibiotics don’t only treat disease, they can increase production. For instance, some antibiotics show a big increase of egg production in chickens. These benefits make antibiotics very tempting.

The problem is, animals retain strains of bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics - basically, super bacteria. The super bacteria spreads among the animals. It gets into the meat and humans ingest it. Even though cooking can kill a lot of bacteria, it can’t kill them all. As you can see, a system has been created in which bacteria gets worse.
